Somewhere Between Black and White - Shelly Hickman ****The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review****This book centers on Sophie and the people in her life, her sister Evelyn, brother-in-law Christian, new boyfriend Sam and her students. Sophie has always seen things in black and white; she judges people and has no problem voicing her opinion. When she meets Sam who sees things in shades of gray, her thinking begins to change and so do her relationships. I liked this book and the message it was trying to get across, the characters were interesting and well rounded. I did have some problems with the flashbacks that Sophie and Sam kept having, I understand why the author included them, I just thought they were unnecessary and didn't add anything to the story. Beyond that this was a sweet wholesome read, there were not any explicit love scenes, instead the focus was on the emotional connection between people.
