The Perfect Play - Jaci Burton Tara is a confident sexy event planner with secrets and no time for anything other than a quick tumble. She is a single mom with a teenage son and has worked really hard to build a good life for her son. Mick is a larger than life football player and a notorious bachelor. He and Tara have a one night stand and while Tara wants to leave it at that Mick decides that he wants Tara and her son. I picked up this book and thought it was going to be a quick light hearted read with a little bit of sex thrown in. I was wrong, this book sucked me in and I couldn't put it down. The emotional hurdles and struggles that the characters were faced with had me really rooting for the couple and hoping that they would be able to find a way to work things out. I loved how Burton showed the close bond between Tara and her son and didn't push that aspect of Tara’s life to the side. She showed how hard it is for a single mom to balance work, kids and trying to have a relationship. Mick tried really hard to form a real relationship with Tara’s son and stepped in and helped even when he didn't have to. I loved the writing, loved the characters and the overall storyline.
