Beautiful Disaster (Beautiful, #1) - Jamie McGuire Review from busymomsbookreviews.comAbby goes to college as far away as she can get from her farther and tries to put him behind her. She and cousin America go to a fight with America’s boyfriend and Abby meets Travis. Travis and Abby become friends and when Abby loses a bet things begin to change. I loved this book, the title really says it all, and the relationship between Abby and Travis is a Beautiful Disaster. They are so dysfunctional, yet they work together really well. You can see how much they love each other and how being together makes them change and start to grow up. The writing was really well done, there were no lulls where I got and there was plenty of conflict to keep the book moving. I really liked how Abby called Travis on things that he did, yet at the same time she still managed to let him be himself. Travis brought out the best in Abby as well; he helped her to stand up for herself and taught her that some things were worth fighting for. I know some people will have a problem with this book because of the fighting and jealousy, but I think that is more believable than people instantly acting like they have been married for thirty years. The only problem I had with the book was a few grammar problems and typos, I am not sure if it was my kindle or the book needed to be edited a smidge more. This book has become one of my new favorites.
