Touched by Darkness (The Sentinel, #1)

Touched by Darkness (The Sentinel, #1) - Catherine Spangler This book is way to slow going for me.

The Werewolf Prince and I (The Moretti Werewolf, #1)

The Werewolf Prince and I (The Moretti Werewolf, #1) - Marian Tee I can't even express how much I really truly hated this book. Domenico decides he is going to marry a chick who works for him named Misty, has he ever met her, no! But he has done a thorough stalker background check and because she was interested in paranormal stuff when she was a kid he knows she will take it well that he is a werewolf, plus he is trying to get back at his father for something he said out of anger a billion years ago.

Misty the heroine is very weak willed, she lets everyone walk all over her and she cries all the freakn time.

There is some half assed plot about war and werewolves being assassinated, then all the sudden fairies and vampires are now in the mix but it's toward the end and it's not really explained all that much. The worst part is there is a huge flippin cliffhanger

Since I am a glutton for punishment and I can't leave shit unresolved like it is, I got to put on my big girl panties, grab the vodka and read the next book.
A Royal Heartbreak (The Moretti Werewolf, #2) - Marian Tee Let me start of by saying I loathed the first book, the only reason I read this one was because the first one had a cliffie and I can't stand having unresolved stuff even if it's from a book I didn't like.

This book starts out sixteen months after the first one ends Misty is in the land of fairy far away from Domenico and trying to get over him. She is an ambassador for the fairy and she teams up with Lysander, she finally sees Domenico again after all this time and he is trying his hardest to win her back. Misty has changed a little bit, in the first she was weak willed and weepy in this book she is supposed to be strong but for me she just came across as a bitch. She emotionally tortured Domenico because she was hurt and it felt like she just wanted to get back at him for hurting her, plus she still cried, a lot.

Domenico changed in this book as well, he went from a self assured alpha male to a big freakn wimp. He gives up everything to be her personal little whipping boy to make up for humiliating her, he may have been a cuntfart in the first book but at least I respected his alpha male attitude in this one he was just sad and pathetic.

I'm just glad this book had a HEA and I don't have to torture myself again, yes there is a lead in for another one but since there is no cliffhanger I'm good.

Claiming Ana (Triple Star Ranch, #1)

Claiming Ana (Triple Star Ranch, #1) - Brynna Curry Lyrical Press provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review.
2.5 stars

This is a really quick read, Ana is a gypsy veterinarian and Howl is a PI werewolf in town on a case the two of them feel an instant lust connection. An unexpected shift and a deranged hunters bullet land Howl on Anas land, their attraction blazes out of control, and now they have to figure out how to break his curse and save Howl from the hunter. I really liked how open Howl and Ana were with each other, they didn't keep secrets or hold anything back once they found out what each of them was they let it all out there and didn't hide anything. The sex between the two of them was seriously hot and the deep emotional connection they shared made it even better. I am not big on books where people who have known each other for a day all the sudden are in love, no matter how short it is I still can't get on board with it. There were still a lot of loose ends with some of the other characters in the novella, the whole reason why Howl was in the town to begin with was never mentioned again. I'm assuming since this is part of a series we'll find out in the other ones what is going on, it'll be interesting to see what the author is going to do with the brothers that Ana is friends with. If you like a fast hot read with characters who fall in love quick, this is a good novella to check out.

My Sunny Vampire

My Sunny Vampire - Stacy McKitrick Lyrical Press provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review.

Jack wakes up in an alley with a hangover, a newly turned vampire that's a doppelganger for his century dead wife and no memory of how or who turned her. Sunny doesn't remember who turned her either; the two of them have to find out who did it and if Jack was the one to illegally turn her the punishment is death. The attraction between the two of them makes things complicated when Sunny finds out about Jacks wife she runs, was it really Jack who turned her or is someone else out there trying to get them? Can Sunny see past her hurt feeling and beyond the betrayal to what Jack is truly feeling or will she let him go? I really liked the way this book started out it was a mystery with the whole how do make a vampire lose their memory. The instant attraction between Sunny and Jack was kinda creepy, I understand why Jack doesn't tell Sunny at first but come on she was his dead wife's doppelganger he definitely should have told her about it before they started making the two backed beast. Sunny's first experiences as a vampire were hilarious at times, she was clumsy and just downright unlucky. The other characters filled in some of the holes in the story, Frank and Carrie were a big part of this story, I hope they get one of their own. I figured out who turned Sunny pretty quickly; I would have liked this book a lot more if the mystery had been stretched out more and had been more focused on the relationship between Jack and Sunny versus Jack, Sunny and his dead wife. My Sunny Vampire was still a good funny read, I just wanted more from it than I got.

Bite Me

Bite Me - Shelly Laurenston

First Love

First Love - James Patterson, Emily Raymond This was different than any James Patterson book I have read before, the writing was amazing as always, it just had a completely different feel to it than his other books. I loved it!!

Full review coming once the book is released.

Live (The Burnside Series)

Live - Mary Ann Rivers *Random House Publishing Group-Loveswept through NetGalley provided me with an ARC of this book for my honest review*
Destiny has been using her local library to search for a new job, but hey at least there is some eye candy to keep her from being completely depressed about her situation. Hefin is a woodcarver, and when he provides a much needed shoulder shoulder to cry on Destiny makes herself believe that she can live with just the memory of his kisses when he leaves. Hefin has been watching Destiny every day, but when he sees her crying he can't keep his distance any longer and once he has her he wants to keep. How do you give up the person who has brought you back to live and yet how can you ask them to give up everything they have ever known? This book was wonderful, the way the author writes this story the characters emotions are so strong they jump off the pages, it has you right there feeling everything they are and with each page you are sucked further into the beauty that is Hefin and Destiny. Destiny was a strong woman, she had a lot of stuff thrown at her, and she held up pretty well, yet she still had this air of fragility about her that made you want to hug her. Hefin is different from the heroes that I have been seeing a lot of lately, he isn't an alpha male, and he isn't afraid to let his feeling show. He pushes himself and Destiny to live life and embrace their emotions even though they know they may end up being hurt. This was the first book by Mary Ann Rivers that I have read, I love her writing style the way everything flows and fits together perfectly is a work of art in itself. Live was definitely different, I really enjoyed reading this book and I am looking forward to reading the next book in the Burnside series.

Rebel (Renegades, #2)

Rebel - Skye Jordan I was loving this book, the interactions between Wes and Rubi pulled me in from the beginning. Then I got to 37% a sex scene, Rubi sleeps around a lot, she is all about the one night stand

I'm fine with her sleeping around with random dudes, my problem is when it came time for her to have sex with Wes the two of them don't use a condom

Why don't they use a condom, oh it's not because they are so lost in passion they forget or protection isn't mentioned in the book. Nope as a matter of fact Rubi says she will go get a condom but Wes says you're on birth control and I'm clean, she's all yes and I'm clean too. So no condom because somehow not having one makes Wes different than all the other guys she banged before. I'm tired of reading books where they discuss safe sex then completely throw aside everything they just talked about. It doesn't enhance the scene all I can think is I hope that man/woman whore you love so much isn't giving you herpes but hey it's cool you're on birth control so you might not get pregnant because nobody ever gets pregnant on that.

So as much as I was enjoying this book after that scene that irritated me enough to rant about it, I had to just DNF the book.

Three's Company, Mallory! (Mallory McDonald #21)

Three's Company, Mallory! (Mallory McDonald #21) - Laurie B. Friedman, Jennifer Kalis Lerner Publishing Group through NetGalley provided me with an ARC of this book for my honest review.

This was the first book in the Mallory series for me, I had my 6 year old daughter read it to me and she really enjoyed it. The books are meant for 7-10 year olds so I think the way the author handled a new girl being inserted into the friendship was age appropriate. The words used were also right for the age group, my daughter had no problems reading or understanding any of the words used in the story. My only complaint was the pictures were in black and white but that could be because I had a digital ARC, I'll buy a hardback copy of the book when it comes out if the pictures are in color then it will be a 5 star read.

Secret Designs (Secret Dreams, #2)

Secret Designs (Secret Dreams, #2) - Miranda P. Charles The author provided me with a copy of this book for my honest review

Ari and Dylan had a one-night stand neither one of them expected to have problems moving on. Now both of them can't stop thinking about the other one, Dylan doesn't do relationships for a good reason but now he finds himself wanting more with Ari. Ari finds herself wanting more with Dylan can he get over his past? Can Ari make Dylan see why she is really with him? This is the second book in the Secret Dreams series you won't be lost if you don't read the first book in the series they are stand alone books, but you do get to see what is happening with characters from the first book and it gives more background if you do read the first one. Secret Design starts out after the one-night stand between Ari and Dylan, so you get to see the fallout from what happened between but them not the deed so to speak. They can't avoid each other because Ari is best friends with Dylans brothers fiancee. I really liked Ari she was a strong woman, she was a clothing designer when she lost her job she tried everything she could to make things work. She didn't pity herself or say why me and she didn't want or need Dylan to save her, she worked hard and put everything she had into doing things herself. Dylan was a charmer without even trying; he just had this natural ability to flirt with women and everyone loved him. I understand why he had issues with trusting women, his inability to recognize what his feelings for Ari whether it was denial or self preservation were at times frustrating, sad and down right funny. I liked both of Dylans friends; they acted like jerks and treated Ari pretty bad but in all fairness they were trying to protect their friend, it's excusable. This was a great read with two adorable main characters and some naughty scenes thrown in to steam up the pages; I'm looking forward to getting my hands on book 3.

A Beautiful Wedding (Beautiful, #2.5)

A Beautiful Wedding (Beautiful, #2.5) - Jamie McGuire I loved the first book and the second one, but at this point I'm

Crash and Burn: A Men of Crash, Fire and Rescue Short Story

Crash and Burn - Anne Marsh

This one may be a quick read, but the characters are developed enough for you to feel connected to them and there is a bit of a storyline. The sex is hot, it's a nice lunch read novella.

Perfectly Matched [Matchmaking Chefs Series Book 1]

Perfectly Matched [Matchmaking Chefs Series Book 1] - Maddie James The writing itself was not bad, the storyline and the characters on the other hand

Beauty's Beast (The Stonebrood Saga #2)

Beauty's Beast (The Stonebrood Saga #2) - Tracy Cooper-Posey I think I am a bit burned out on erotica books right now, the sex scenes in the book normally would have been super hot but I was all

No offense to the author because this book was well written it wasn't the book it was me.
