The Alpha's Mate (The Wolvers, #1) - Jacqueline Rhoades Elizabeth need some peace and quite, so rents a cabin in the mountains to get away. On the way she almost hits a wolf, runs her car off the road and gets caught in her panties by the hot Chief of police. The people on the mountain become her friends after helping her fix up the cabin she has rented, but they have a secret. While Elizabeth is dealing with her attraction Marshall, some men come to town who want her for their own. Elizabeth finds out the town secret and she has to deal with the fact that she was born for Marshall and if that means that he really loves her. Elizabeth seemed to be a needy woman, at times she was wasn't very smart. When she needed to be she was strong and got the job done, she did have instances where she was overemotional thought. Marshall was the alpha wolf, but I just didn't see it. Yes he was stronger than the other males, but there was just something about him that didn't command respect to me. The towns’ people were quirky and added some hilarity and conflict, but overall I can't really remember any of them. The bad guys in the book just seemed a little cliché to me and I don't believe that Marshall’s brother suddenly had a change of heart. I just didn't really care about the characters and because of that I couldn't really get into the book. The writing itself however was really good. The timing was good and some of the descriptions did make me see the mountains from the characters eyes, I just didn't enjoy the story.
